Every morning I like to take a walk around my neighborhood. I always pass by the methadone clinic. Methadone is a legal drug given to opiate addicts to help them function.
The place was more busy than I've ever seen it. My theory is that the clinic was closed on Sunday and Labor Day, so a lot of the addicts were suffering from withdrawal, or "junk sickness."
Guess what kids, you can't "experiment" with opiates, whether they be heroin, pain pills or pain patches. You're gonna get addicted, for life. Also, I'm pretty sure Ecstasy is half heroin (and the other half is methamphetamines, I know).
I'm glad these junkies were doing "the right thing," but if they had any brains they never would have gotten hooked.
Be smart kids.
